Membership

The u3a is non- profit making. Our Committee Members and Group Leaders volunteer their time.

New Membership: Membership in the u3a runs on a calendar year basis (Jan 1st-Dec 31st) Individuals wishing to become a Member are welcomed to join anytime with in the calendar year. The Membership fee of £15 remains the same at which ever month a New Member joins and covers Membership for the remainder of that calendar year. The £15 pays for the Members legally required insurances and contributes to the administration running costs of Cheadle u3a.

You need to be a Member of the u3a to attend the Activity Groups. There is a £2 fee payable at each Activity session you choose to attend. This contributes towards the venue hire cost for the Group Activity as a whole. (There may be times when a Group Leader and their Group Members choose to enhance the Group Activity eg via a trip out or inviting a guest speaker which may involve an additional cost to the Group Members . This additional cost would need to be agreed by the Members.)

Join the u3a by completing a Membership Form and paying your £15. Please note we are not currently able to receive completed electronic forms or payments. Payment is by cash or cheque payable to Cheadle (Staffs) u3a. A Membership Form can be down loaded here for printing and posted to the Membership Secretary including your cheque and a stamped self- addressed envelope for your Membership Card to be sent to you.

Renewed Membership is required from Jan 1st each year irrespective of which month the Member joined in their initial joining year. Renewed Membership lasts for the calendar year of renewal.

Gift Aid: Our u3a can claim for Gift Aid from the HMRC for any member who is a UK Taxpayer. This is a boost to our Charity’s income and makes a real difference to us.
